Continuing Nursing Education Programme On “teachers Are Role Model-what They Are Modelling
Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing organized and conducted a continuing Nursing education programme on “Teachers Are Role Model-What They Are Modelling” (29-10-2014) The Inaugural session of the CNE Programme was held between 09.00 am-09.30am. Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions presided over the function. Shri.Neelraj, Secretary, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions had inaugurated the function., Mrs.B.Sirajunisa Begum has consented to be the chief guest. Mrs.J.Dhanalakshmi, Vice principal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of nursing welcomed the gathering. The theme of the CNE Programme was unfolded by our Principal, Mrs.A.Rajathi M.Sc (N).M.BA,Ph.D.
The scientific sessions commenced at 10.30 am. The first presentation for the forenoon session was occupied by Mrs.B.Sirajunisa Begum who covered the topic “ Creation of an innovative and interesting learning environment” followed by Mrs.A.Rajathi M.Sc (N).,Ph.D Prinicpal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of nursing who presented on “Nuts and bolts to moula clay to idols”.
The next session was presented by Mrs.Beryl Mohan raj, M.Sc(N) principal, Servite College of nursing, Trichy on the topic, “Attitude- enhancing teaching learning process” which was continued by, Prof.Mary Rita, M.Sc(N), principal, Jenny’s College of nursing, Trichy who presented on “Positive Handling of adolescent learners”.
The afternoon sessions was started by Dr.Santham Sweet Rose, M.Sc(N)., Ph.D Principal, KMC College of Nursing,Trichy who presented on the “ Tips to improve Clinical Teaching” followed by Prof.A.Pechiammal, M.Sc(N), Prinicpal, Srinivasan College of nursing, Siruvachur.
The valedictory session was held and the certificates were issued to the programme organizers and delegates of the conference.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs.J.Sathiya Priya, organising secretary and the programme ended with national anthem.
State Level Conference On , “ A Steps To Meet Challenges In Hospitalized Child Care”
A state level conference has been organised by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan college of Nursing on 30.09.2014. the topic of the conference was, “ A steps to meet challenges in hospoitalized child care”
The Inaugural session of the conference was held between 09.00 am-09.30am. Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions presided over the function. Mrs.J.Dhanalakshmi, Vice principal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of nursing welcomed the gathering. The theme of the conference was unfolded by our Principal, Mrs.A.Rajathi M.Sc (N).M.BA,Ph.D.
The first session of the day was “challenges and trends in hospitalised child care” presented by Dr.Sudha, MA.,M.BA.,Ph.D(N), Vice principal, M.A.Chidambaram College of nursing,Adayar,Chennai. Secondly a interesting presention on “Pediatric Equipments” was presented by Dr.Shylaja,MD (Pediatrics), Senior consultant, Department of paediatrics, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan medical College and Hospital, Perambalur.
The session was followed by Dr.Srinivasan, MD (Pediatrics) Consultant paediatrician and neonatologist, ABC Hospital Ariyalur on “Pediatric Drugs”. Successively Dr.Sivakumar.C, M.B.B.S., D.Ch, Senior resident, Department of paediatrics, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan medical College and Hospital, Perambalur took up the stage to present his lecture on “pediatric Emergency in PICU”
The afternoon sessions started up with an interest presentation on “Pediatric Assessment” given by Dr.Murugan Jayaraman, M.B.B.S., D.Ch,MRCPH (UK), Consultant paediatrician and Neonatologist, Apollo Speciality hospital, Madurai. The next presentation was really the need of the hour which covered “ banking for Child care” presented by Dr.K.Tamizharasi, M.Sc(N)., Ph.D(N), principal, Sri Gokulam College of nursing, Salem.
The final presentation was done by Dr.A.Helen.M.Perdita, M.Sc(N)., Ph.D(N), Principal, Madurai Apollo College of Nursing, Madurai.
The scientific sessions was followed by valediction and national anthem.
National Conference On “a Wake Up Call- Aging And Mental Health
Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing organized and conducted a two day national Level conference on: “A Wake Up Call- Aging And Mental Health.”
The Inaugural session of the conference was held on 11-10-2013 between 10.00 am-10.30am. Shri .A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions presided over the function. Dr.Chanu Bhattacharya, Professor and HOD of Psychiatric Nursing, Father Muller College Of Nursing, Mangalore has inaugurated the function and delivered the key note address. Feliciation address was given by Mrs.R.Naganandini, M.Sc (N) Prinicpal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing.
The scientific session for day one commenced at 11.00am. The forenoon session was occupied by Dr.Chanu Bhattacharya which covered the topic “ Quality of life in elderly people“ followed by Dr.R.Sreevani, Professor and Vice Prinicipal, Sri Devaraj Urs College Of Nursing, Kolar who presented on “Special Concerns for The Aged”
The afternoon session was presented by Dr.Sailaxmi Gandhi, Asst.Professor, Department Of Nursing, NIMHANS, Bangalore which covered “legal and ethical issues related to geropsychiatry.”
The second day sessions included paper presented by Dr.Arun Kumar which covered two topics “Trends In Evaluating And Psychiatric Disorders In Aging.” and “Aging- A Public Health Crisis”.
Dr.Baby Rathinasabapathy, Professor cum Vice Principal, College of Nursing, MTPG&RIHS, Pudhucherry has presented a paper on, “ Evidence Based Practice in Geriatric Mental Health Care”.
The final session of the day was “Policies and Programmes For Senior Citizens” which was delivered by Dr.lalitha, Professor and Head, Department of Nursing, NIMHANS, Bangalore.
Scientific paper presentations of the delegates were also presented.
The valedictory session was held on the second day (12-10-2013) between 4.00- 5.00 pm. Shri .A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions presided over the function. Mrs.R.Naganandini, M.Sc (N) Prinicpal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing, unfolded the theme of the workshop. Dr.K.Lalitha, Professor and Head, Department of Nursing, NIMHANS, Bangalore, delivered the valedictory address and issued certificates to the programme organizers and delegates of the conference.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Jerone Lawerence Benedicta. The programme ended with National Anthem.

The Workshop Started with an Inaugural function, the chief guest was Dr.Renganathan M.D.,D.A., Dean , Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Siruvachur. Shri .A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institution presided over the function.
The programme commenced with the prayer song and Kuthuvilaku was lighted by the dignitaries. Welcome address was given by Ms. Gayathri Asst. Lecturer Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing, Perambalur. The workshop theme was unfolded by Ms.Naganandini Principal, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing, Perambalur.
Continued with scientific sessions, the forenoon session was occupied by the resource person Dr. P.Vijaiananth MD, Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about Cardiogenic shock. Dr.K.Sankar MD, Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about Cardiac arrest, Dr. Sivakumar MD, Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about Cardiac Tamponade & Dr.Sri Ram,MD, Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about CPR & ACLS. The afternoon session were occupied by the resource persons Dr. Sivamoli MD, Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about Defibrilation, Dr.Sathik Basha,DA., Senior Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about Endotracheal Intubation, Dr. T. Raja Prubu, MD,DA., Assistant professor, DSMCH, Perambalur presented the topic about Mechanical Ventilation & Mrs. R.Punithavathy M.sc (N) Principal Thanthi Rover College of Nursing Presented Topic about Nurses Role in Cardiac Emergencies. Around 400 delegates were participated from the various colleges. After the completion of sessions the valedictory function was started.

Continued with scientific sessions, the forenoon session was occupied by the resource person Prof.Mrs.Hetzy Sudhanakumari,M.Sc(N),M.Phil, Ph.D(N), Principal, Rathna College of Nursing, Hassan , Bangalore presented the topic about Roles and Qualities of a Community Health Nurse Leader. and Prof.Mrs.Juliet Sylvia, M.Sc (N), Ph.D (N) HOD of Community Health Nursing, Department, Sacred Heart College of Nursing, Ultra Trust, Madurai presented the topic about Leadership Excellency in Community Health Nursing Practice. The posters were evaluated by the Resource persons and the I & II Prizes were won by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Nursing & Rover College of Nursing, Perambalur.
The afternoon session were occupied by the resource persons. Dr.Latha,M.Sc (N), Ph.D (N) , Lecturer, Ranimeyyammai College of Nursing, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Cuddalore and presented the topic about Leadership Issues Facing by Nurses Working in Community Area. Scientific session was concluded by Dr.Tamilmani, M.Sc (N), Ph.D (N), Principal , Annai JKK Sampoorani Ammal College of Nursing, Komarapalayam presented the topic on “Practicing Quality Assurance through an Executive Leadership Function”. Around 300 delegates were participated from the various colleges. After the completion of sessions the valedictory function was started.

The afternoon session were occupied by the resource persons Dr.Lathavenkatesan, Principal, Apollo college of Nursing, Chennai, presented about Quality Assurance in Midwifery Practice, Prof.Annie Annal .M, HOD of OBG department, Kasthurba Gandhi College of Nursing, Pandicherry, presented about Legal & Ethical issues related to Midwifery, Prof.Irenelight, Vice Principal, Sankunthala College of Nursing, Trichy, presented about Evidence based practice in Midwifery. Around 250 delegates were participated from the various Colleges
